Track Rocks Field Trip
July 13 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Join us for a field trip to Track Rocks led by John Boilegh, an anthropologist with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Known as the Barnesville Petroglyph outside of Belmont County, Track Rocks is located just a few miles outside of Barnesville. The carvings were made by Native Americas that once lived in the area. Some researchers believe they could have been made as early as 500 BC.
We will meet at the museum and carpool to the site; we will leave the museum at 9:30 AM sharp. Be sure to wear comfortable and sturdy shoes, and cameras are permitted. After visiting the site, we will return to the museum for further discussion of the site.
No registration is necessary for the event. It is free to attend, but donations will be accepted.
