Vegetable field day

The Ohio State University Extension, Belmont and Monroe counties will host a vegetable field day on July 28 at the property of John Weaver at 57399 Shry Road in Barnesville.

The field day will immediately follow the Captina Produce Auction sale, also hosted by OSU Extension, which begins at 10 a.m. at 39050 West Captina Highway in Barnesville. Those who wish to participate will drive less than 1 mile to Weaver’s farm at the conclusion of the sale.

The event will be free and open to the public.

Ohio State College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Science specialists and educators will discuss how to care for many fruit and vegetable plants including raspberries, strawberries, pumpkins, cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes.
