Have a Frighteningly Good Time with These Halloween Happenings in Belmont County

Belmont County is brewing up a cauldron of Halloween fun this year! From haunted trails and spooky parties to family-friendly trick-or-treating and even celebrations for pets, there’s something for everyone. Get ready to make some fun Halloween memories this year.

Halloween isn’t complete without going door-to-door asking for treats, so here’s the dates and times of trick or treat in Belmont County:

*Before Bethesda’s trick-or-treat, kids can gather at the park shelter for a cake walk beginning at 4:30 with a costume contest to follow.  

*The village of Bridgeport will also host their annual Halloween parade beginning at 5 pm before trick-or-treating. 

*Trick-or-treaters can enjoy a party at the Flushing Fire Hall after they’ve collected all their sweets. 

*Before trick-or-treating in Lafferty, head to the Moose Lodge at 5:00 pm for food and a costume party. 

The village of Holloway will also have a cake walk and a dance at 7 pm at Bo Garrett Hall on October 26th.

Scare Up Some Fun While Supporting Local 

Get ready for some spooktacular fun this Halloween season while supporting local businesses! Head to the St. Clairsville Halloween Bash on October 24th from 5:30-8:00 PM and show off your best costume while enjoying adult trick-or-treating at local businesses along Main Street. Score awesome prizes, enjoy delicious local eats, and more.

Plus, don’t miss out on family-friendly fun in Barnesville, where kids can trick-or-treat at downtown businesses on October 31st from 5:30-7:00 PM. 

Stop by The Tree Top Shop in Bridgeport for their “Nightmare on Main Street” Halloween Bash on October 26th from 7-10 PM! If you’re 21 or older, you can check out the shop, rock a costume for discounts, and win spooky prizes. Mark your calendars and get ready to haunt the streets! 

Get Spooked at These Haunted Events

Calling all thrill-seekers! Get ready for a good scare at Fear Field Haunted Trail and The Haunting at LAYC! Fear Field isn’t your average haunted house—it’s an immersive nightmare designed to tap into your deepest fears, from getting lost in the woods to eerie encounters with real bones and haunted artifacts. Brave the trail every Friday and Saturday in October from 7:00 – 11:00 PM. Tickets are $25 at the gate or $20 if you grab them online!

For those looking for something a little less terrifying, Fear Field also offers a family-friendly daytime experience! On Fridays and Saturdays, from noon to 4:00 PM, enjoy a not-so-scary trail packed with Halloween fun. There will be games, music, a scavenger hunt, small prizes, and plenty of festive activities without the fright!

If you’ve always wanted to experience The Haunting at LAYC, this is your final chance! After years of terrifying guests, this haunt is closing its doors forever. Catch it on October 18, 19, 25, and 26 from 7:30 – 10:30 PM. The event is PG-13 and cash-only, so bring your friends and your courage!

And don’t miss Boo at the Barns, hosted by Belmont Soil and Water! Head to the Belmont County Fairgrounds on October 22nd from 4:00 – 6:00 PM for a spooky-fun evening featuring trick-or-treating, live nocturnal animals, face painting, pumpkin decorating, a haunted trail, a giant spider web obstacle course, and more. 

There’s no shortage of Halloween parties in Belmont County! On October 19th, Zion Retreat RV guests can enjoy a pumpkin paint party and trick-or-treating at the campground. Or, scare up some fun at the Powhatan Point VFW for a Halloween Party with live music by the Straight Shooter Band and a costume contest.

For adults on the 19th, the Holistic Cloud Halloween Bash at Capstone Event Center will feature food trucks, a haunted attraction, a DJ, tarot readings, and prizes. Keep the party going on October 26th with live music from Mongos Barn at The Homestead Event Center’s Halloween Party, or join frightening fun at Matt’s Tiger Pub and Route 40 Lumberjaxe.

Even pups can join in on the festive fun! On October 26th, the Belmont County Dog Park is throwing a Halloween party with light refreshments and photo ops. And don’t miss the pet costume event at Pet Supplies Plus in St. Clairsville on October 19th from 1:00-4:00 PM for treats and a howling good time! 

Step into history with a spooky twist at the Belmont County Victorian Mansion Museum! Take a tour of Southern Cemetery and uncover Barnesville’s past through the fascinating stories of those laid to rest there. You can also book a psychic reading at the Victorian Mansion for just $40 on the same day. Call to reserve your spot.

Don’t miss the Hallowed Witches’ Float at Barkcamp State Park on October 26th with Happy Goat Yoga and Paddleboarding for some bewitching fun. Grab your broomsticks (or paddles!) and hit the lake in your best witchy outfit for a magical time on the water!
