Milton Porter, United States Army

Milton E. Porter served in the US Army from September 1946 to March 1947 and from October 1950 to June 1952 during the Korean Conflict. Corporal Porter continued his service as a member of the Army Reserve until August 1956.
Milton worked for the US postal service in St. Clairsville, retiring in 1984, after working as both a city and rural carrier.
Milton was married to Elizabeth Johnson for 45 years, until her death in 1997. He was to Darlene Reese in 2004, until his death in 2012.
Milton served as a Richland Township Trustee for 29 years and was active in many community organizations. He was on the Belmont County 911 Board and served as a trustee board member of Cumberland Trail Fire District #4, and also served as member of Belmont County Democratic Central Committee.
He was a long-time member and past president of the St.Clair Ruritan Club and a charter member and treasurer of the National Association of retired Federal Employees Belmont County Chapter $2175.
He was a lifelong member of the Bridgeport Church of God and in retirement he was a member and officier of Belmont County Public Employees Chapter #79 and Ohio Rural Carriers' Association.
Milton was proud to have served his country in the US Army.
