Fall is the perfect time to camp

Belmont County's beautiful fall foliage makes September and October the perfect time to plan a camping trip. Spend a weekend around the campfire at Barkcamp State Park, Piedmont Lake, or Zion Christian Retreat & Nature Center.
The 1,005-acre Barkcamp State Park (65330 Barkcamp Rd. Belmont, OH 43718 ) offers visitors the chance to camp surrounded by mature woodlands and rolling hills or spend the day exploring the rugged Appalachian region. The park offers tent, cabin, and RV camping, as well as a dedicated horseman's camp. Activities at Barkcamp include boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, hunting, hiking and horse trails, horseshoe pit, mini golf ,picnicking, volleyball, archery range, general store, and nature center with activities (during the summer months). Piedmont Lake and Marina (32281 Marina Rd., Freeport, OH 43973-9501) offers RV, tent, and seasonal camping, cabin rentals, and park model cabins. Piedmont offers boating, fishing, hunting, and hiking. The majority of the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District lake is located in Belmont County, near Piedmont, Ohio, and is accessible by I-70 and State Routes 800 and 22. Zion Christian Retreat & Nature Center (334 E. High St, Flushing), was established in 2005 with a mission to provide a haven to honor and experience God in His creation and to bring people closer to Christ.
