June 4th is Packed with Family Fun!

Looking for something fun to do with the family on June 4th? Come to Belmont County! From an annual celebration of all things strawberry to cars shows and airplane rides, the first Saturday in Belmont County offers something for everyone – and all with FREE admission.

Don’t miss the annual Martins Ferry Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 4 from 12-10pm on Fourth Street. This one-day festival grows larger with each year. Bring your appetite for food trucks, strawberry shortcake, beer, and wine. Compete in a strawberry baking contest. Enjoy live music including acoustic, indie folk, 90’s alternative, and country rock. Shop craft vendors. See a huge car show by the Ohio Valley Street Survivors, and a dog show at 2:30pm with a costume contest, talent show, and wiener dog races. Bring the kids for inflatables, a free kid’s fun run (ages six and under and 7-10) at 12:30pm. Come dressed in red or compete for the best strawberry outfit. Call (740) 359-6202 to register.

Head over to Barnesville for the, 2nd Annual Airport Day from 10am-3pm. Enjoy airplane rides ($5), hot dogs, games, face painting, and demonstrations by the EMS, fire and police departments. The EMS helicopter and vintage aircraft will also be on display. The event is held at the Barnesville Bradfield Airport, 62299 Fairview Rd.

The 6th Annual Breeze Memorial Ride starts and ends at the Residence Inn by Marriott Wheeling-St. Clairsville (50694 Ohio Valley Place) at 9am. Members of the Warthogs Motorcycle Club from across the country participate in this memorial ride. Breeze (Don Buff Jr.) was a fellow member of the Warthogs MC. He was a member of the Cambridge SWAT Team, a training officer at the Belmont Correctional Institute, and a reserve deputy for the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office.

You can check out two cars shows on June 4 in Belmont County. The Belmont County Saddle Club Car Show takes place from 12-4pm at 41915 National Rd, Belmont. Registration begins at 11 am. Join them for a fun-filled afternoon of new and old car, trucks, and bikes,There will be door prizes, a Chinese auction, and more.

The Jim Kovalo Memorial Car Show is 4-7 pm at the OR & W Fire District, 4210 Central Ave. in Shadyside (rain date is June 11). Entry fee is $10 and all makes and models are welcome. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 50 vehicles. Trophies will be awarded in a variety of categories. There will be craft vendors, food and drinks, and music by Johnny “O”. All proceeds will go to the American Heart Association and the O.R.&W. Fireman’s Association.

The Ohio Valley Farmers Market returns for the 2022 season on Saturday, June 4 from 9 am until noon in the parking lot off Union St. in Bellaire. In addition to locally grown produce, baked goods, and crafts, you will find regularly scheduled entertainment and children’s activities there each Saturday. The Thursday market is in the Ohio Valley Mall parking lot between Panera Bread and Chick-fil-A from 4-7pm in St. Clairsville.
