Support Local Women-Owned Businesses this Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, and we’re showcasing local women-owned businesses in Belmont County. Join us in showing some love to local female entrepreneurs!
From coffee shops to eateries to boutiques to creative spaces, these businesses bring a sense of passion and community to our area.

Local business owner Audrey Brahler runs three businesses that bring joy and community to the city of St. Clairsville. Stop by Main Street for a delicious coffee or tea, panini, and scoop of creamy gelato at Giacinta’s Gelato and Caffé. Then, head up the street to Audrey’s Avenue Kitchen and Bar for delicious small plates, such as a loaded potato or handheld sliders, and handcrafted cocktails. For your sweet tooth, visit Bear Necessities inside the Ohio Valley Mall to satisfy your sweet tooth with ice cream, candy, and unique sodas.
Several other businesses on Main Street in St. Clairsville are run by fabulous women. Shop for the trendiest fashions at mother and daughter owned boutique, Whispering Willow’s Boutique.
The Melting Pot Marketplace is just a few doors down, where you can shop from local vendors selling everything from secondhand clothing to vintage decor and handmade jewelry. Shop for even more fashion at Kelly’s Suite White House Gallery, a gift shop in a beautifully decorated space.

Also on Main Street is the newest creative space, Bloom Studio Art + Life. At Bloom, you can sign up for several creative classes ranging from acrylic painting to monthly book clubs. Need to do some more shopping? Find all your fabric and quilting needs at From Past to Present Quilt Shop, and swing by Fur Pet’s Sake Resale Boutique to shop affordable second-hand items where sales go to benefit rescue cats.
Support women-owned businesses at the Ohio Valley Mall by shopping at Pinky Promise Boutique, where you’ll find stylish fashion for children. For incredible deals on liquidation sales and workwear, stop by Oil and Gas Safety Supply, located just outside the mall. After a day of shopping, satisfy your cravings at Osaka Japanese Steakhouse with a plate of delicious sushi or a sizzling hibachi dinner.

If custom-made T-shirts are more your style, check out Country Craft Bowtique in St. Clairsville or WSL designs in Bellaire for unique and personalized apparel.
Looking to fuel your workouts without sacrificing flavor? Belmont County is home to two specialty nutrition spots offering delicious and energizing options. On the east side of the county, Martins Ferry Nutrition serves up protein shakes, bowls, and flavorful teas. In St. Clairsville, Better You Nutrition offers shakes, teas, and wellness shots. And if you live to workout, they also offer fun and engaging cardio drumming classes.

Speaking of fitness, keep your body moving with yoga and Pilates classes at Restore Yoga and Wellness. Located along National Road, Restore offers classes for all levels, as well as special events each month to help strengthen your body and mind.
For pet lovers, visit The Pampered Tail Pet Store in Martins Ferry, the area’s newest shop dedicated to outfitting your furry (or scaly) friends with all the essentials. Then, take a short trip south to Bridgeport to explore The Bird’s Nest, a charming consignment boutique, before grabbing a bite at local favorite family eatery Sonny Boy.
In Bellaire, meet up with friends and sip a latte at Community Coffee and Tea, a cozy café perfect for unwinding. For a hearty meal and a refreshing drink, visit Bellaire’s newest eatery, All-American Family Restaurant, located just down the street and owned by Sonny Boy’s Melissa Freeman Starkey.
The Village of Barnesville is home to several fantastic women-owned businesses worth supporting. Grab a bite or a drink with friends at Blue Moon Tavern or Main Street Barrel House. While in town, be sure to browse unique finds at local shops like Avenues, Out of The Barn, and Bless Your Heart Folk Art. If you’re searching for fresh flowers or a gift, stop by Blossoms or The Flower Gardens for beautiful floral arrangements.

From boutiques and cozy cafés to fitness studios and unique gift shops, women-owned businesses bring character to our communities. By supporting these businesses, you’re not only shopping locally but also uplifting hard-working entrepreneurs. Next time you’re out and about, be sure to visit these establishments and celebrate the creativity, dedication, and passion of women in business.
