Get Out of the House and Enjoy a Spring Event in Belmont County

Spring forward and enjoy a variety of great events from craft shows to 5k races in March, April and May in Belmont County!

Welcome Spring Guest Breakfast, Saturday, March 20, 8- 9:am at Zion Retreat & RV Park, Zion Main Office (334 E High St, Flushing).

Guests staying at Zion the weekend of March 20-21 in cabins and RVs, will receive four tickets to the “welcome spring breakfast”. Guests will be treated to pancakes, sausage, coffee/tea, activities, blessings celebration, games, and prizes. Book your reservation for cabins or camping by emailing reservezion@gmail.com or calling 740-968-0955. The public can also attend for $10 per person.

Easter Craft/Vendor Event, Saturday, March 20, 10am-2 pm at the Belmont County Fairgrounds (45420 Roscoe Road, St Clairsville) More than 40 crafters and vendors will be available inside and outside the Wise Building at the fairgrounds. The Easter Bunny will make his rounds from 11am-2pm. There will be face painting. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. There will also be a Chinese Auction and 50/50 drawing. Easter Bunny Arrival, March 20, 11am at the Ohio Valley Mall (67800 Mall Ring Rd.)

The Easter Bunny hops into the Ohio Valley Mall at 11 am on Saturday, March 20 at Boscov’s Court. Children will enjoy pre-packaged snacks and activities and crafts with local organizations until 1pm. While supplies last. Easter Bunny photos will be available March 20-April 3. See mall website and social media for times. An Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt will take place March 20-21, mall wide during mall hours. Intended for children 12 and under. See mall website and social media pages for rules. Pet photos with the Easter Bunny will be available March 22 & 29, 6-8pm in the Center Court. Bring your furry friend for photos with the Easter Bunny.

Martins Ferry Craft & Vendor Fair, Saturday, March 27, 9am – 1pm at the Martins Ferry Veterans Memorial Recreation Center (401 S 4th St, Martins Ferry).

Rotary Lake Trail 5K Run & Walk, Saturday, March 27, 9:15am – 12:15pm at Barnesville Memorial Park Youth Center (130 Fair St., Barnesville).

The beauty of nature is completely on display in this challenging up-and-down, through-the-woods, around-the-lake, all-over-the-park 5k trail race. A free kid’s race is also offered.

The first 100 registrants receive a hooded sweatshirt. The next 100 a long-sleeved T-shirt. Sizes and styles not guaranteed.

After the race, enjoy a yummy smorgasbord of delicious food including pizza, pepperoni rolls, pasta salad, and Donley’s Delicious Delights homemade cookies. We also offer over 100 of the beautifully-hand-crafted Nature Trophies in various categories and divisions in the Run and the Walk. Visit their website for registration information.

Spring Pop-Up Sale , April 16, 10am-6pm and April 17, 9am-3pm at The Vestry (211 Church St., Morristown) This will be an indoor shopping event featuring varying styles of home décor and treasures- vintage, re-purposed, urban farmhouse, whimsical, pre-loved clothing, accessories, and sweet treats. Complimentary coffee will be available.

Current Ohio mandates will be followed for this event. Masks will be required.

Wildflower Walk, April 17, 10am- 4pm at Barnesville Memorial Park (130 Fair St., Barnesville) Have you ever wondered about the names and features of the many wildflowers that brighten our area each spring? Now’s your chance to learn more at the return of the Tenth Annual Wildflower Walk. This free event will provide information on some of the many beautiful wildflowers that carpet Barnesville Park each year. In order to manage crowd flow and allow for social distancing, please RSVP to: ellie@captina.org with the expected number in your party and planned time of arrival. Spring on the Main, Saturday, May 1, 10am – 2pm (E. Main St., Barnesville). This outdoor vendor event, sponsored by the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce, will feature a variety of vendors, as well as participating downtown businesses. Call 740-425-4300 to become a vendor or for more information.

Bike A Thon, Saturday, May 1, 10 am-9 pm (Barkcamp State Park). The St. Clairsville Rotary Club is hosting this World Bicycle Relief fundraiser May 1st for a family fun bike-a-thon. The event will have options for two-wheeled fun for all levels all starting at Barkcamp State Park. A family fun ride will be a 1/3 mile loop of the beach parking lot. Turn up the adventure a notch with a six mile loop of the mountain bike trails. Others can put in some mileage on the newly developed ‘Backroads Trails’ starting from Barkcamp heading to the Egypt Valley Wilderness Area. This may turn into a virtual event.

The club’s goal is to have a fun, safe event getting more people on their bicycles while they raise enough money to purchase 50 of the Buffalo Bikes for the World Bicycle Relief, $7,350. Participants are encouraged to find sponsors for their ride. Club members will also ask local businesses and individuals to donate at different levels to support anything from a new wheel to a whole fleet of bikes for a community.

Test of Champions at Belmont Hills Country Club, Saturday, May 8, 1:30 – 9:00pm

Second Saturdays, May-October, 11am-3pm (downtown St. Clairsville)

The St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Second Saturdays on May 8, June 12, July 10, August 14, Sept. 11, and Oct. 9. The event will include sidewalk sales, vendors, crafts, music, food trucks, fitness, yard sales, and more. Call the chamber for more info at 740-695-9623. As part of the event The Belmont County Heritage Museum (101 E. Main St.) will feature a speaker. on each date Topics will include local history topics ranging from railroads to sports.

Rails to Trails 5K, Saturday, May 15, 8:30am-12:30pm at the B & O Depot (300 E. Church St., Barnesville). Voted “#2 Favorite Race in the Ohio Valley” this race features a flat, fast course with a nice and steady half-mile downhill start. Divisions include a Masters in both Run and Walk, a unique Dog-Walking Division, and age groups, with 200 beautiful hand-crafted trophies. Race participants will also enjoy the chance to win over 120 door prizes, a huge smorgasbord of delicious food, and a Tunnel Fun Run for kids.
