Take him fishing. The Ohio Department of Natural Resource’s free fishing days weekend for Ohio residents is June 19-20 in any of Ohio’s public waters, including the Ohio River. Belmont County offers an array of angling opportunities from the mighty Ohio River, Piedmont Lake and Belmont Lake in Barkcamp State Park to picturesque park ponds.

Spend a day on the links at one of Belmont County’s three beautiful golf courses.
The course at Belmont Hills Country Club in St. Clairsville is enhanced by the natural beauty of the pine rich Ohio hillside, and their challenging golf layout will leave long-lasting shot making memories. The rolling hills beckons players, whether beginners or pros, to “tee it up.” At Belmont Hills Country Club, the golf course adheres to architect Devereux Emmet’s original plan of using the natural shape of the land.
The number one rule at Horseshoe Bend Golf Course in Armstrong Mills is to have fun. Their goal is to provide the best golfing value in the Ohio Valley for all skill levels and budgets. The course is located within a half hour of most localities, and the drive from any direction highlights Belmont County’s beautiful hills and valleys.
Clair Mar Golf Course is a nine-hole golf course located in Powhatan Point, Ohio. The course sits along side the beautiful Captina Creek watershed and offers a fun, and quick game of golf.
Want to be able to spend time with your family while golfing? Come to Tilt Studio at the Ohio Valley Mall and test out your putt-putt skills at the miniature golf course.
Attend an event or concert on Father’s Day weekend and beyond. Events happening Father’s Day weekend include the Bobolink Bonanza, Ohio Valley Farmer’s Market, the Underground Railroad Museum’s Juneteenth Celebration, and the Dillon Carmichael Concert in Bellaire, Ohio.
Satisfy dad’s appetite and treat him to a great steak dinner at one of our many local restaurants here in Belmont County. Or, take him out for a locally produced drink at Vino Di Piccin Winery and Tasting House in Lansing or Belmont Brewerks in Martins Ferry.
