National Road Bikeway
Overview
The National Road Bikeway in St. Clairsville is the only rail trail in Ohio with a tunnel. The tunnel is 532 feet long and 40 feet high. The tunnel restoration for the bikeway maintained the cave-like interior, while adding some lighting for bikers’ safety.
Beyond the tunnel, the trail includes 3 miles of paved bike trail that also connects to a 1 mile extended bike lane route. Consider taking a rest in the gazebo at the gorgeous Hub Park Naturewalk.
Find the National Road Bikeway by taking I-70 Exit 215; travel east on Rt. 40 to St. Clairsville. Turn left at 2nd light onto N. Marietta St. Turn right at stop sign onto Newell Ave. Turn left at stop sign onto N. Market St. Follow N. Market St. to ballfields.
