Belmont County Tourism 2023 GAP Grant Applications Available
ST. CLAIRSVILLE- The Belmont County Tourism Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce the annual Grant Assistance Program (GAP Grant) is now accepting applications for 2023.
These grants help “fill in the gap” by financially assisting non-profit organizations with events, projects, improvements, or maintenance of a tourist attraction or historical site that enhances travel and tourism in Belmont County.
“Many of the recipients would not be able to continue with their community event or attraction if it wasn’t for this grant,” said Jackee Pugh, the Belmont County Tourism Council Executive Director. “Last year, the Tourism Board was able to award grant funds to over 30 recipients, and we are hopeful this year will yield even more recipients,” she added.
Any non-profit may apply for the grant, and to qualify, the event or attraction must generate tourism into Belmont County. Applications have been mailed to previous applicants, are available online at www.visitbelmontcounty.com, or can be picked up in the tourism office at the Ohio Valley Mall.
“We are accepting applications until March 3rd,” Pugh said. The board will review all the applications, and grants will be awarded to the qualifying recipients by March 31. “Our office looks forward to this time every year, and we are certain that Belmont County's non-profit organizations appreciate it as well,” Pugh said.
The Belmont County Tourism Council’s mission is to bring visitors to the area through the promotion of our events, attractions, and unique experiences. We are optimistic about the future of Belmont County and look forward to all the upcoming events happening right here in friendly, beautiful Belmont County.
