Belmont County Tourism Awards Over $100,00 in 2023 GAP Grants
The Belmont County Tourism Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce the Grant Assistance Program (GAP Grant) has awarded $107,600 to 52 non-profit organizations in Belmont County. Individual grants ranged from $500 to $2,000. There were a record number of applicants this year, including several first-time applicants. A check presentation event on March 30 at the tourism office included local media coverage.

Celebrate Black History Month in Belmont County
African American history is an integral part of the story of Belmont County. With many Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) settling in the area, the Underground Railroad was very active here. You can learn more about this rich history by visiting the Underground Railroad Museum-Ohio Valley in Flushing, the Benjamin Lundy house and the Belmont County Heritage Museum in St. Clairsville, and the Captina AME Cemetery near Somerton.

Belmont County Tourism 2023 GAP Grant Applications Available
The Belmont County Tourism Council Board of Directors is pleased to announce the annual Grant Assistance Program (GAP Grant) is now accepting applications for 2023.
These grants help “fill in the gap” by financially assisting non-profit organizations with events, projects, improvements, or maintenance of a tourist attraction or historical site that enhances travel and tourism in Belmont County.

With our deepest condolences, the Belmont County Tourism Council celebrates the life of Eugene “Doc” Householder and the impact he made to Belmont County. He served as Executive Director of the Tourism Council for 28 years.
